Split into a few distinct categories, and all color-coded for ease, Hogwarts Legacy's spells flowed well in combat, and gave fans plenty of options to experiment. But aside from its nostalgic exploration, Hogwarts Legacy's other best component was its surprisingly tough but satisfying and weighty combat. Though its main story was a little lacking, Hogwarts Legacy's greatest charm came from the ability to just explore Hogwarts Castle itself, and discover all the secrets it held.
While it may not quite have offered the full Hogwarts school experience that some fans were hoping it would, Hogwarts Legacy did end up being a pretty great action-RPG set in the Wizarding World, with tons of fan-service and engaging content for fans to dive head-first into. A studio primarily known for its family-friendly releases like Toy Story 3, the Cars games, and Disney Infinity, Avalanche Software was not the immediately obvious choice for the developer tasked with creating the very first fully-fledged Harry Potter open-world RPG, but against all odds, the studio pulled it off.
